Managers are an integral part of a club, they decide all footballing and tactical matters- some turn out to be great while some turn out to be bad, so here let us have a look at 5 mangers.
- Marco Rose
Marco Rose joined Borussia Mönchengladbach from R.B Salzburg where he had few amazing seasons.
His system relies on-
- “positional press” to cancel out numerical disadvantages high up-field, with individuals often retaining access to two options.
- Press ball-occupant while shutting off passing options with the angle of approach.
- Creation of ‘False Passing Options’ to trick opponents into passing to seemingly open players, before closing out the space surrounding the receiver and forcing a turnover.
- Appropriate positioning in deep areas to win first & second balls following the opponent’s long passes.
Last years key performer Thorgan Hazard has left the club but I think that he wouldn’t have suited Rose’s 4-1-3-2, they got 25 million euros for him which was low but have spent a large chunk of it on Breel Embolo, who seems like a perfect Marco Rose player as he is a centre forward who also contributes in the press and has good shot numbers.

2. Paulo Fonseca
Paulo Fonseca was appointed by A.S Roma after he worked at Shaktar Donestks for 3 years and those 3 years were wonderful.
He is a very smart coach with great tactical understanding. He primarily used to play with a 4-2-3-1 at Shaktar, with a very good structure and a great pressing style. His system relies on 2 defensive midfielders controlling the game. He has got Brian Cristante and Amadou Diawara who would be perfect for this role, as both are great passers and do a lot of defensive work.
Roma did not have a good season last year, the main cause of that problem was their defence. They were very weak defending in the wings and were very prone to counter attacks. This was a problem because of their previous coach’s lack of defensive proves. I think that Fonseca will make Roma a better team.
They also weren’t great in attack and this was mainly because of Edin Dzeko underperforming. He seems like he will leave the club and the club now has to find a new prolific striker- they have been linked to Mariano Diaz and Gonzalo Higuain, Mariano would be a great signing as he would suit the system while Higuain will just be a stock gap.
Francesca’s career depends upon how well he does at this job and personally I think that he will do a good job.

3. Javi Gracia
Watford under Javi Gracia finished eleventh last season, but I think that they were the ninth-best team in the league. A huge part of their success was their Manager and his support staff.
Gracia preferred a 4-2-2-2 last season, where there were no wingers instead there were inverted wingers and the full-backs provided the width. Two forwards played- generally Deeney and Deulofeu. Deulofeu played like a false 9 whereas Deeney played as a physical presence in the box, this system was quite successful until the last few weeks where the teams started to know how to counter it.
Watford have a very ageing squad but they have not signed any notable players, they have to sign a few players in order to continue at the same rate as their competitors have strengthened well
Gracia will have a challenge under his.hands to change his system in order to not get caught up in a relegation fight, as everyone knows their weakness which is defending counter-attacks and through balls.
