Football is a sport with a lot of money, some teams use it correctly and build a formidable squad while some teams just waste the money.
- Manchester United
Manchester United are one of the richest clubs in the World and are the best-run club according to their financials ,but not so in a footballing sense.
United have no structure at the club, their transfers are seen by Ed Woodward who was previously an investment banker and knows nothing about football, United had a very bad squad when Sir Alex left and no major overhaul has been done since. They just go for the biggest player which is there in the market and do not think about what they need. The signings of Fred and Matic are some of the examples.
Manchester United need someone who will be controlling on the footballing side things along with Ed.
Manchester United have been linked to former players like of Darren Flecther and Rio Ferdinand for this job which is absolutely a joke as they have never been at a position at any club.
They have also been linked to Mike Phelan which is better than all other candidates as he has been involved in football for a lot of time and also knows the club as he is also the assistant manager.
If United are a bit smart they would sort out the things out of the club like Paul Pogba wanting to leave, David Da Gea’s contract just has one year left in his contract and Alexis Sanchez earning a lot of money. United will have another season full of mediocrity next season.

2. Inter Milan
Inter Milan are considered as a dumping ground for old talent which has passed its peak and is now on their last payday, this has cost the club a lot as they have a debt of a massive 438 million which is huge and is now stopping them to buy players due to financial fair play. I think they have to cut out the deadwood, this includes dumping ageing players but in true, inter Fashion they have been linked to a lot of old players like Felippe Luis, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil. These players will consume a lot of wages even if you get them on a free and because of these things Inter have not built a proper squad since 2010.
The only good thing Inter Milan has done is to appoint Antonio Conte. He is the best coach they were gonna get, I think that they along with Atlanta will challenge Napoli to the second position, but the Naples based club will ultimately secure that position.
I think Inter has to improve rapidly, in order to move forward- especially if they want to challenge for the champions league.

3. Atletico Madrid
Atletico Madrid is not run fantastically. They have a huge debt of 390 million euros for building a new stadium and they need to do a huge overhaul this season.
They have not been great in the contractual situations, they have let 3 (Felipe Luis, Godin and JuanFran) regulars of their team go on a free and all in the same summer and are losing 4 (Greizmann, Rodri, Luca Harenedez and Jan Oblak) players due to reasonably low buyout clauses.
This big overhaul has meant that Atleti is lead to Ransome by other clubs like Barca are demanding 100 million for Nelson Samedo. I think that Atleti should have started thinking about this situation 2 or maybe a year ago. They did not have a great time in signing players as well especially seeing they paid around 130 million for Deigo Costa and Thomas Lemar and are now going to pay 55 million for Morata.
I think that this will be Simeone’s last at Wanda Metropolitano as he would be fed up that he has to do a lot of work and will look to start a new challenge.

4. F.C Schalke
F.c Schalke has one of the biggest fan following in Germany and despite that, they were in a relegation battle. Their biggest problem is their contractual situations. Max Mayer and Leon Goretzka- their 2 of the biggest and upcoming stars left on a free last year. These both did a lot of work in midfield and without them, they have struggled a lot as well.
They have not recruited that well, last year they bought Sebastian Rudy from Bayern Munich for 15 million euros and Mark Uth for free but they both have not worked really well.
The appointment of David Wagner is not that interesting as well especially if they could have gotten a coach a tier up from him like someone like Pablo Machin.
I think that Schalke will finish mid-table next season and after a few years will sack their manager and replace him with the same quite mediocre personality.

5. A.c Milan
Unlike some other clubs on this list, A.c Millan has recruited really well. They have bought a bunch of young and exciting talent for a relatively cheap price. Their real problem is in areas of debt and executive level, they do not have a proper club structure and have just given all their key jobs to their legends who are relatively inexperienced for the size of the Milan based outfit.
Two years ago they were bought by a Chinese firm who lost their control on the club last year to Elliot corporations who brokered for them. From then it has been topsy-turbo and I think that the sooner they react to this situation, they will have a better side as these situations generally affect the player’s mentality, which anyone does not want.
