There are a lot of clubs which are on the verge of doing great things if they sign one or two players, so here is a list of 5 clubs which just need to sign some players.

  1. Júnior Firpo –  F.C Barcelona

Barcelona has lacked a left back since Luca Digne left for Everton. At that Jordi Alba has played great but has overplayed a lot this season and because of that he had a lot of problems in focusing on games and this problem was seen in Barca’s match against Liverpool in champions league semi-final where he did 2 blunders which lead to goals.

For solving this problem Barc could go for someone like Júnior Firpo who has played in Real Betis team who favour possession-based football like the 5 times champions league winners.

Firpo looks to be the copy of Jordi Alba as both like to dribble, both make around 2.5 tackles and interceptions per 90, Both average around 1.2 key passes per 90.

Firpo is inferior to Alba in some places like goal contributions like Firpo is involved in a goal in every 280 minutes whereas Alba is involved in every 250 minutes. Firpo is less involved in the expected build-up than Alba, This could all be possible because Betis is inferior side than Barca attacking wise.

Firpo looks to be an exciting player and could be the possible replacement to the 30-year-old Jordi Alba. He could be bought in as back up to him and then be phased in.

2. Nikola Milenkovic- Juventus

Juventus have a roster of a very thin roster of centre backs as Barzagli has retired and Martin Caceres’s loan has ended. The other 3 centre backs of them are Chelini and Barzagli who are getting older and Rugani is the only one who fits the bill perfectly.

I think they should start turning their squad over and to start this they may sign one or two centre backs.

Nikola Milenkovic fills the slot perfectly as he is young and has experience in Seri a for Fiorentina.

He completes around 3.1 defensive actions per 90, clears the ball around 4 times per 90 and hardly gets dribbled past. He also attempts 50 passes per game with 81% pass acurecy. He also completes around 4 balls per game. These stats look to Bonnochi who has declined this year and has certainly not aged as juventus wanted him when they bought him back from Milan.

Milenkovic looks like he will have a great career if he does or does not join the old lady.

3. Florian Thauvin – Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich has just lost 2 of the best wingers of their history as Both Robben and Ribery have left the club. This has left a big space to fill and they look to sign city’s Leroy sane, but I think that they won’t be able to achieve that signing as I think that city will convince Sane to spend 1 more year ar club and see how things pan out.

So that leads Bayern to sign at least 1 winger/ prolific forward and I think it should be Florian Thauvin of Marseille. He has a World cup winner medal and has performed very well in Ligue 1. The French man has 80 goal contributions in the last 3 years.

His underlying stats suggest that his performances are stable as he takes 3.4 shots per 90, Dribbles 1.7 times per match and provides 1.5 key passes per 90 and also gets fouled 1.5 times per game.

I think that Bayern will have a very good replacement for Robben on the right-hand side of attack for maybe the next 5 to 7 years and will also cost about 50 million euros which is considered as a bargain by few.

4. Jean-Philippe Mateta- Leicester City

Leicester City has finished in the mid-table of the premier league again with the help of their star forward Jamie Vardy, who scored 18 goals this season. Apart from that Leicester don’t really have a backup for him, once he slows down they might fall into a lot of trouble.

So, I think that they should go for Mainz’s Jean-Philippe Mateta who has had an amazing breakout season and has scored 14 and assisted in 2.

Mateta takes an impressive 3.4 shots per 90 has performed as expected goals predicted., which means that he has scored in every other game. He would certainly fit Brendon Rodgers’s style and would provide Vardy with some much-needed rest and then after some time become their main player.

If Leicester get Mateta, it would be a steal as he looks like he could go on to do big things.

5.5. Toby Alderweireld- Athletico Madrid

Diego semione needs defensive reinforcements as 3 or maybe even 4 of his defensive players are about to leave. these include first team regulars like Hernandez and Diego Godin.

Toby might be the right fit for Simeone as he has played in Athleti before and is available in a cheap price for just 25 million euros. As we all know Toby is a very good defender and an excellent distributor and his stats show that as he completes around 70 passes a game and makes a solid 2 tackles a game solid for a defender who generally plays in a back 3.

Toby Alderweireld would be a good signing for Athleti and bring some stability and would certainly bring some experiance which the club has lost in recent years.
